Pictures of Valle de Odessa. |
Valle de Odessa. The substantially built caballeros y senoras! Incedentially I don't think we saw any litter during the entire 10 mile walk around the valley. |
Waterfalls on the Rio Arazas close to the path. |
A blue pool beside the path. |
View looking at South wall of valley. Our return footpath is up there somewhere. |
La Cascada Cola de Caballo. The appropriately named horse's tail waterfals. |
Looking South West from about 2 km from the Cola de Caballo. |
La Cascada Cola de Caballo from further away. |
A marmot, like a badger but with a loud squeek. I did lug my 300 mm lens along this time but I still could not get close enough in the time available. So I cheated here by scanning this slide at 2720 dpi and cropped this bit out. But there's no substitute for a real picture. |
La Cascada Cola de Caballo from even further away. The footpath on the right leading up to .... can be seen. |
Looking back up the valley towards La Cascada Cola de Caballo at a different angle from the previous slide. |
Looking back up the valley towards La Cascada Cola de Caballo from even futher away. |
Again lookin back up the valley. Extensive footpath erosion can be seen, although the problem is being solved. We saw a team making a very smart path closer to the waterfalls on the Rio Arazas. |
Monte Perdido (3348 m, 10984 ft) is the central peak, seen from 5 km away and a height of 1900 m, 6234 ft.

This shot is looking in the return direction back down the valley, towards the coach park. Cars are not allowed in the park, but there is a superb and frequent coach service from Torla. |
The Brecha de Rolando can just be seen on the horizon. The left hand gap on the horizon is the Falsa Brecha.
