Aerodivers Logo Bristol Aerospace Sub-Aqua Club Visit the BSAC
Training

The branch operates within the BSAC system, and offers training at all levels from the basic Ocean Diver , right up to Advanced Diver and beyond. We also welcome divers from other organisations such as PADI, CMAS etc. wishing to cross over to an equivalent BSAC qualification. Qualifications gained with other organisations can be converted to the equivalent BSAC grade according to the "statement of alternative training" method.

If you would like to learn to dive or progress to the next diver level please contact our Diving Officer or Training Officer. Once you have become a member of BASAC our instructors can provide in-house training which follows the program set down by BSAC.

The training includes theory lectures, and practical pool training leading you onto open water training. After achieving at least Ocean Diver you are welcome to attend dives organised by our club.

We also provide some open courses which are also available to non-members. These include:
-   Introduction to Snorkelling.
-   Introduction to Diving
-   Try Dives

If you are undecided on whether diving is for you, a try dive is an excellent way to experience breathing underwater without the committment or pressure of enrolling on full diver training

Learning to Dive With Us

BSAC training will ensure that your diver training will contain exactly the same elements whether you train with a BSAC Branch or School in the UK or abroad.

The BSAC training programme is acknowledged world wide for its thoroughness and emphasis on safety. Diver rescue and practical safety are an important element right from the outset of BSAC training.

The entry level BSAC qualification for newly trained divers is Ocean Diver. Divers with existing qualifications from other organisations may be able to cross over to a higher grade.

Basic equipment is available to get the new member underway with their pool training. However, it is desirable for new members to progressively acquire their own equipment early on to allow familiarity with its use and aftercare. We encourage trainees to talk to other members before rushing out to buy any new equipment! Trainees will require their own protective diving suit before commencing open water training.
